Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

IEMT - Integral Eye Movement Therapy Official Website

As a complex problem following exposure to extreme stressors, PTSD is characterised by a number of symptoms, many of which may not be attributed directly by the sufferer to the exposure event of the event. In exploring PTSD in therapy, it is often found that the PTSD client does not wish to discuss the event. The relevant details may involve personal shame and embarrassment and all too often the client will be aware that despite the empathic attitude of the therapist, the therapist probably won't truly understand the impact of what has actually happened to the client. Thus the IEMT process for working with clients suffering from PTSD does not depend on understanding or empathy for the client's traumatic experience, but instead offers a precise set of tools to enable the client to move forward beyond their situation.

"Andy Austin is an intelligent and entertaining trainer. He demonstrates high standards regarding working with clients and more importantly, he trains you to become aware of yourself as the clinician/coach in all types of situations. His material is very useful for individuals who want to increase their therapeutic skills. He cleverly leads students to find the answers within and then offers new ideas to challenge their learning even more. I have enjoyed my experiences learning from Andy and I recommend him as a trainer."
